asparagus:
Grill it, stir fry it, steam it and drench it with butter – you can't go wrong with the stuff. If it came in all these great colours would only make me love them a little bit more.

flowers:
Enjoy spring and summer blossoms year-round! Dogwood flowers, cherry blossoms and a sassy summer bouquet.

fennel heart:
I was trying to decide on a new graphic for a recent Valentine's Day Craft Sale and it dawned on me – FENNEL!! Ever noticed that it looks a lot like a heart? Left and right ventrical and all that... Heart-shaped or not, the Fennel is a pretty extraordinary vegetable to look at, and it makes a pretty tasty salad too!

the persimmon:
This year my family discovered the quiet delight of the persimmon. We've been buying them by the dozen, admiring the drama of their presentation, then neatly peeling and eating them well before they reach full ripeness.

baby bok choi:

It always seems to surprise folks when they find out there are Chinese people in Trinidad (where I come from). It shouldn't be a surprise then that there are also Chinese veggies like bok choi! When we emigrated to Canada, my family was greatly comforted to discover that this great veg was also readily available up here!

ying ying:
I figured it was about time I learned about the care and feeding of small children. So I accepted the offer to babysit Ying Ying. Turns out I get more out of it than just my hourly wage!

product features:
• 55% hemp • Original Artwork • Reinforced Handles • Custom Inside Pocket

AuMarché shopping bags are made from 55% hemp and 45% cotton which means they are tough enough to tote countless loads of groceries, library books or even your belly dancing costume to class.

Unlike typical canvas bags, they are lightweight and won't weigh you down when they're empty. They measure 14" high, 12 " wide and 6" deep — a great size for both light and heavy loads. The straps are 21" long and 1" wide and can be worn comfortably over the shoulder, or if you're a little person, across your chest! The base of the bag is wide and flat, providing a platform on which you can stack your groceries. This means that (providing you scored a super grocery-packer-person at Safeway), you'll be able to load a ton of stuff into one bag! I've sewn a pocket into each bag, perfect for stashing your keys or pen and grocery list. The fabric used for this changes depending on the image and what I've got in stock. But don't worry, whatever it is, it's beautiful and deserving of your bag.

caring for your bag:
AuMarché images are applied to the bag using heat transfers. Here are the manufacturer's washing instructions: "Turn garment inside out, wash in cold water using colour-safe detergent (no bleach), remove promptly from washer (colours may bleed if left wet too long, if this happens, rewash immediately) and tumble dry warm." I personally prefer to hang my bags to dry. I find that this pretty much eliminates the need to iron the post-dryer wrinkles out. If you do need to iron it however, do so on the wrong side of the bag.
