OUR SCHEDULE:
Recognizing the child’s need for consistency and the parent’s need for quality childcare, we have created the following programs:

Morning Preschool Monday - Friday 8:30-11:30
Afternoon Preschool Monday - Thursday 12:30-3:30
All Afternoon Program Monday - Thursday 12:30-5:30
Full Day Childcare Monday - Thursday 8:30-5:30
  and Friday 8:30-11:30

Other Services: For a minimal extra fee, we have a daily lunch program. Children may stay at school after the morning class, or arrive before the afternoon session, and have lunch with their friends. They may bring their own lunches or parents may choose to order a hot lunch that arrives at 11:30.

We are also able to recommend nearby in-home family daycare centers.

OUR ACTIVITIES:
Our children are involved in many activities throughout the school year. Some of them occur at the school while others happen offsite.

On site school activities:
  • A daily drop in lunch program
  • Saturday gardening day events
  • Campouts every second year
  • Planting, caring for and harvesting their own gardens
  • Bike rallys
  • Mother’s Day teas
  • Potluck dinners
  • Guest speakers

Off site activities:

  • Nature walks
  • Regular field trips relating to current themes of study
  • Attending live theatre, music and dance events
  • Visits to designated seniors centers, each class having their own "special grandpals"

(Unless we are going substantial distances, parents are asked to volunteer to drive on our outings)

Field trips: Although the classroom is the laboratory where many concepts are experienced and solidified, the children’s learning extends beyond the bounds of the classroom. Yearly we attend the Vancouver Symphony, visit places such as the Capilano hatchery, the Planetarium, Fort Langley, or the pumpkin patch, as they relate to our themes.

Parent involvement: Because we believe that the child requires the support of his/her family we encourage active parent involvement in what he/she does. Parents are encouraged to:

  • Volunteer for driving on field trips
  • Attend parent teacher conferences
  • Attend the parent education evenings, campouts, social events etc.
  • Share their expertise in class if it pertains to a topic under discussion
  • Join the PAC committee (parent advisory committee) and have some input into the events of the school
